BuyingSellingLifestyleAuction Returning to the REB Awards as previous winners for the sixth consecutive year is dynamic duo Kate Lumby and Will Hampson, representing boutique family agency Lumby Hampson.
From 2012 to 2017, both Ms Lumby and Mr Hampson have been finalists in the category of Auctioneer of the Year and winning it in 2014, 2016 and 2017.
Ms Lumby also won the 2016 REB Excellence Award.
In 2018, Lumby Hampson is a finalist in the Boutique Agency of the Year and Sales Campaign of the Year categories.
Mr Hampson said that the Dural-based boutique agency focuses on selling acreage properties and family homes, mostly by way of auction.
“We opened the doors of our family real estate business in 1968 and then rebranded Lumby Real Estate in 2016 to Lumby Hampson Real Estate.
“Our clients love that they deal directly with the principals and owners of the business. Our mantra is ‘Let our family look after your family’ and this really resonates with our marketplace.”
Ms Lumby said that the business strategy has been deliberate and that it has paid off well.
“We made a decision when we rebranded the agency not to run a property management department and to purely focus on sales with a six-star service,” Ms Lumby said.
Lumby Hampson Real Estate really is a family business with Kates’ mum, Jan, welcoming buyers to open homes and pencilling the bids at auctions. Her father, Barry, is a sounding board and mentor with 50 years’ experience in the game. Wills’ sister, Tammy, manages accounts and marketing.
“We love that we have continued our family business for over 50 years and we receive a strong number of referrals from other agents,” Ms Lumby said.
